Easy fuel-gauging for any battery-powered Zephyr RTOS application
Adding a reliable indication of a device’s battery state-of-charge is essential for prolonging battery life and satisfying end-user expectations. The ability to read out the state of charge allows more of the device's battery to be utilized, without the need for extra charging out of fear of running out of power.  In this webinar, we give you an introduction to the fuel gauging features of the nPM1300, when used in combination with a Nordic SoC or SiP. The webinar will discuss the benefits of using an algorithm-based fuel gauge instead of simple OCV-based (open circuit voltage) or coulomb-counting gauges. Towards the end of the webinar, we will go through the process for profiling batteries to generate a battery model for your specific battery, and demonstrate how you can easily use this model to add fuel gauging to any Zephyr RTOS based firmware application running on compatible SoCs or SiPs.Agenda: 00:00 intro00:40 fuel gauging basics03:00 different approaches to fuel gauging09:00 nPM1300 fuel gauging efficiency and accuracy18:17 supported hardware22:15 step-by-step tutorial39:17 Q&A late session47:51 Q&A early sessionThis is a recording of a live webinar held on November 20th, 2024.
