Connectivity Anywhere: Simplifying Terrestrial and Non-Terrestrial IoT
In this webinar, Neil Rice from Nordic Semiconductor is joined by Karthik Ranjan from Skylo, Greg Terrell from LooUQ, and Jon Johnson from Remsight to look at how terrestrial and non-terrestrial (NTN) IoT connectivity can be combined in a single product. We cover why cellular LPWA (LTE-M and NB-IoT) is the right foundation for industrial IoT, how 3GPP NB-NTN closes the coverage gap for the more than 75% of the earth's surface without terrestrial LPWA coverage, and how the Nordic nRF9151 together with LooUQ's MTC2-N9151 module and Skylo's satellite network let a single SKU switch automatically between cellular and satellite connectivity. Greg Terrell walks through how LooUQ built a certified, drop-in modem so device makers can inherit Skylo's certification rather than repeat it, and Jon Johnson explains how Remsight uses that connectivity to bring affordable, ground-truth environmental monitoring to irrigation districts of any size, including a field test validating continuous NB-NTN coverage on a rural highway drive test.
