nRF Connect SDK is Nordic's software development kit for developing both short-range wireless and cellular IoT applications. The nRF52 Series SoCs and nRF9160 SiP are supported for production, and the nRF5340 SoC has support for production for Bluetooth LE in single protocol configuration and in multiprotocol operation with Thread for the Bluetooth LE peripheral role.

In this webinar, Bjørn, Pål, and Joakim will give you a short introduction to the nRF Connect SDK, followed by the exciting new short-range and long-range features in the latest release of the nRF Connect SDK version 1.7.

Some short-range highlights include:

- Multi-image DFU for nRF53 Series with simultaneous application and network core firmware update.
- RF front-end module (FEM) support for the nRF21540 RF FEM range extender is now supported for production
- nRF21540 RF FEM: Bluetooth: Direct Test Mode and Radio test sample support.
- nRF21540 RF FEM: Support for Bluetooth® LE, Thread, Zigbee, and multiprotocol applications and samples using the Multiprotocol Service Layer.
- For Bluetooth® mesh, the choice of default Bluetooth® LE Controller changed from Zephyr Bluetooth® LE Controller to SoftDevice Controller.

Some cellular IoT highlights include:

-Enabled a more flexible way of handling AT notifications with the modem through the new AT Monitor library on the nRF9160 SiP.
- Cellular IoT samples: nRF9160: AT Monitor
- Added support for using nRF Cloud Location Services through REST and JWT for the nRF9160 SiP.
